Irrigating the Garden #1 Rule

An important rule for gardeners is certainly to use an adequate amount of water for their plants and or gardens. For plants or flowers in growing containers, whether they are hanging baskets, small houseplant pots or giant whiskey barrels, is that every time you water the pot, you continue watering until at least 30% of the water has gone out the bottom of the pot. We want to soak the pot with each watering. The same concept exists for gardens. Water your garden excessively at least twice per week. Most gardens require approximately one inch to one and a half inches of water weekly. Try to apply this amount in two applications every seven days.
